If traveling to Asheboro by way of the 220, 73/74 bypass, then take the Asheboro exit, cross over 220, and continue on to Lexington Rd. Go about 5 miles and you will come to Lake Lucas on your right. 3158 Lexington Rd.

If you are starting your search from inside the city of Asheboro, you want to take Sunset Ave. west out of town. When the road crosses over the bypass the name will change to Lexington Rd. Go about 5 miles until you see Lake Lucas on your right.

Park in front of the playground area. Follow the sidewalk in front of the playground toward the office until you come to the paved walk path on your left. Turn left and begin walking the trail. Walk past the picnic table until you come to the tree with the long strip of bark removed by recent lightening. This tree will be on your right and the playground slide will be on your left. Count 49 large steps from this point (between the tree & slide). There will be a fallen tree on your right. Follow this tree off the path until you reach the uprooted stump on your right. Climb to the top of the uprooted stump and look down hill. Directly in front of you is a smaller tree stump and inside you will find your prize. Be careful of critters! You might find more than you are looking for!
