Kids are great. Having them, raising them, and getting rid of them. I love my kids with all I have inside me, but what a pleasure to see one up and out of the nest and setting out to make it in the world!

I have been captivated by SJZ since she was tiny. Everything about her is so uniquely SJZ! Now she has grown into a lovely young woman with her own thoughts and ideas and what a pleasure just to talk to her and be around her.

Today is her 19th birthday. She moved to Denton and away from home six months ago, so this is her first birthday on her own! I'm really proud of her and even though I miss her terribly sometimes, I'm glad to see her making a go of life.

Happy Birthday SJZ!

********************

You are invited to SJZ's perpetual birthday party - she may or may not be around when you stop by, but you can sure wish her a happy birthday!

Find your way to Lake Ray Roberts State Park, Isle du Bois unit. From Denton, take I-35E north to Sanger and take exit 478 east and you will be on FM 455. You will soon see a sign for the Sanger Unit - Marina. Don't take that cutoff! Continue along FM455 East and cross the dam. You will soon see a sign for the State Park, the Isle du Bois unit, on the left. Turn in and pay (unless you have a park pass, which was what we got SJZ for her birthday) and get a map.

Or here's a map you can download:

http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/publications/pwdpubs/media/park_maps/pwd_mp_p4503_137n.pdf

Looking at the map, find the Kids' Fishing Pond. Park in the parking lot of the Bluestem Grove area and spot the sign that indicates the trail to the pond. Proceed between the sign posts and continue along the trail.

As you approach the pond, you will see that you can go to the right and go around one side, or you can go straight and then turn to the right on the other side of the pond. Take the straight route, but watch for a metal culvert you will cross over. Before you cross over the culvert, look to your left. Next to the trail and to the culvert, you will see two large iron ore rocks with a third rock leaning against them. There will be a fourth rock tucked up under the leaning rock. Remove this rock and feel underneath for the box.

Take a piece of cake, leave the gift of your stamp, and recover well. Be sure the camo'ed side is up when you rehide and tuck the small rock in securely.

email me at barefootlucy@yahoo.com to let me know the condition of this box!
