Welcome to the Star Trail! Don't forget to bring your compass, notebook, stamp, ink pad, and pen/pencil. You should also wear long pants due to possible encounters with poison ivy and ticks. This hunt will take you through area travelled by lots of dogs, so watch your step! Begin at the parking area for Callahan State Park on Millwood St. in Framingham, MA. Your first directions are from the metal gate at the left side of the parking area.
1. Proceed up the hill along the trail until you reach the first intersection.

2. Turn 90º to the right and proceed in in a roughly northerly direction. After about 100 yds. there will be a cluster of trees to your left. Continue along the trail, which dips down into a dell. There will be shrubs and bushes on either side.

3. PAY CAREFUL ATTENTION! After descending into the dell, look for a small trail branching off to the left. You could miss it if you aren't paying attention. Take this small trail but WATCH OUT! It is slightly overgrown and has poison ivy on either side. Stay to the middle of the trail and don't give up!

4. The small trail will continue on into the woods and before long will intersect with a major trail. On the right will be a six foot tall rotten-out hulk of a large old tree.

5. At this intersection, turn 90º to the LEFT and proceed NNW (330º roughly) until you cross a small bridge.

6. Right after crossing the bridge the trail forks. Take the fork that heads roughly 280º. 7. After a while the trail gets rocky and begins to head uphill slightly. Keep on truckin'! Your are getting close now!

8. You will shortly see another trail merging with the one you are on from the NNE. Stay on the trail you are on and continue up hill counting your paces as you go.

9. After approx. 26 adult paces turn 90º to the left and look for a large pine tree approximately 9 paces off the trail that forks into three large branches about 8 feet off of the ground. Proceed to this tree.

10. With the three-forked tree at your left shoulder, proceed roughly 190º until you encounter an old stone wall.

11. Follow this stonewall downhill approx. 30 adult paces. You will see the remains of an old, fallen tree. It's stump is hollow. Look inside the base of this hollow stump. Here you will find the Star Trail Letterbox! Congratulations! Please stamp and sign the book!
