Star Bright at Big Creek

This letterbox was made by the youngest Pirate.

Big Creek Parkway is part of the Cleveland Metroparks System. This portion has picnic areas with pavillions, hiking trails, fishing in the creek.

Equipment Needed: ink pad, bug spray
Difficulty: Easy
Time 20 minutes

Driving directions:
From I-480 exit Ridge RD in Parma and travel south about 3/4 of a mile to Pearl Rd (RT 42). Go right (south) on Pearl Rd. Travel about a mile to Snow Rd and turn right (west) on Snow Rd. Travel about 1/2 mile and turn left on Big Creek Parkway. Continue straight (past the first road on the left) and you will come to a parking lot on the left, park here.

Clues:

**The original clues have been changed due to the fact that the surroundings have changed since this box was first planted. the following clues are accurate as of september 2009.

Take the paved trail directly in front of your car to the right. Travel past the inclined exersize benches and you will come to a split, go to the left and you will come to "Hiking Trail Only" continue on the paved trail until you see a park bench on the left. Just past the bench is a dirt trail to the left, take that trail. Not far up the dirt path it splits but stay to the left and follow along the creek, at some points the trail is very close to the creek so be careful. Continue on down the trail and look for "Boys Girls" carved on a tree on your right. Stop at the carved tree.....Count approximately 70 steps forward down the trail and you will see a tree that has fallen over the path , the tree has fallen but is still above the trail about 8 feet above the ground (last time I checked the tree has been cut but the big log is still there) and a big log is on the right. The letterbox is behind a big log and covered with a few small logs.

Please stamp our log book, and your own!
Thanks for Leterboxing with "The Pirates"
