Monkey was looking for a place to camp. He found a great campsite at Cape Disappointment State Park.

He wandered into the main entrance and was in awe at all of the new construction that had been taking place. But he had more pressing matters on his mind. It had been a long car trip and he needed to utilize the restroom.

After emerging from the restrooms monkey found a curved trail made out of concrete planks that led to the ocean. Monkey wanted to start at the beginning of the trail so he didn’t miss any of it because it had cool writing on it. So he started out for the ocean but it wasn’t long on the trail before he was distracted. He is a little bit curious like his friend George.

At St. Michael’s Prairie, Monkey found another trail to the left and decided to follow it. He followed that trail until he found a trail on his right with more cool writing on it. So he followed the writing. As Monkey was reading the writing, he kept thinking that this was somewhat familiar. Then it donned on him. He remembered a story like this from Sunday School.

Jesus answered… “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.”
Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life.”
(John 14:1-6)

Then Monkey found the stone that reads, “And lastly we call upon all that we hold most sacred. The presence and power of the Great Spirit which flows through all the universe to be with us to … teach us and show the way.”

Monkey was comforted by this and thought it would be good to camp next to the stone that talks about Father God who created the universe and everything in it.

So he made camp to the left of the stone amongst the ferns. You will find his camp under a stone tucked behind the upper rock farthest to the right.
