The Looney Tunes are on the loose!
They split, they ran, they jumped the caboose!
They heard about a crazy town,
Where ‘loony’ letterboxers abound.
For Columbia, Missouri they all made haste,
And hid themselves with no time to waste.
They scattered North, South, East, and West
And picked a place that suited them best.
With a playground nearby each of these spots,
There’s fun to be had by both grown-ups and tots.
Bring your own ink and a compass might aid,
An easy hike in and you’ll have it made.
Find all five characters, or only one,
But the more you find, the more the fun!
Pick any order, you get to choose…
Now enough of this rhyme…on to the clues!

DIRECTIONS/CLUES:
In order to round up this character, whose cage just could not hold him, head out to Cosomo Bethel Park in south Columbia. Be sure to bring a kite to fly and a picnic as this park has places to enjoy both in addition to a nice playgroud=nd! To get there from I-70, take Providence Rd. all the way south to Nifong. Make a right (west) onto Nifong. Take a left (south) on Bethel, park entrance is on the left.

Park anywhere in the lot and head to the main entrance under the flagpole. Keep to the right past the picnic shelters and find the playground. Quickly scramble through the concrete tunnel as if you were being chased by an unfriendly feline! Find the path on the other side and go left toward the lake. Notice a rockwall on your left with all sorts of nice niches. Could our feathered friend be hiding in one of these? No, too much commotion, search for a quieter place.

Find the gravel path that winds around the lake. Go right, heading counterclockwise. On the far side of the lake pass an undedicated wood bench with a nice view. Past this point the trail enters the woods. Just inside the woods edge, the trail points you toward a small concrete slab with a ridge along one edge. Look around and make sure Sylvester isn't lurking near by - did you tink you taw a putty tat? If not, reach under the raised edge and find the perfect hiding spot out of reach from prying paws.

Please replace all of the stones that provide protection from prying eyes, putty tats, and other woodland creatures. Please e-mail me using the "contact the placer" link and let me know the condition of this box and what you thought about the hunt.
