(Note: This box has gone missing- either taken or washed away. A completely new stamp has been carved and a new box has been placed in a new location. Look for the Mars II Letterbox as the replacement box for this series.)

The Mars Letterbox is #6 in the Solar System series. Mars is referred to as The Red Planet and named after the god of war!

Find the planet, Mars and continue south just under and on the other side of the train trestle. You may pull off and park along the road there but you'll have to cross the busy highway. So, please use caution. OR, continue a little farther down the road and turn around in a driveway and head back pulling off the road and parking on the south side of the trestle. (The box is on the same side of the road as the planet.)

Start at the south side of the underpass at the end of the concrete structure that sweeps under and around. You will have to climb a short slope to get to this location. With your back to the trestle and heading south count 30 paces to two cedars (a small one and a larger one.) Look under the eastern side of the larger cedar under rocks.

Most letterboxes go missing because of careless letterboxers. PLEASE rehide carefully and completely. Thanks for visiting Mars. Hope you look for other boxes in the series.

Happy Boxing!
