Time: about 45 min unless you need to stop for some sweet cats or a dog or 2

This box is located at Stratton Brook SP and can be accessed from Farms Village Rd (rt 309). Drive in and park either by the beach parking or lower, closer to the covered bridge.
Several other planters have boxes in this park so you may want to check out other Simsbury clues.
Head over the bridge and up to the pavillion with the stone fireplace at the end. Take the trail behind here and head up the hill to the end. When you reach the gate you want the trail to which the gate points, not the sharp left. Keep the yellow house on your right as you begin here. At the T go left again, and then take a quick right up hill. At the T go Rt, then left under a broken tree-it was over the path when I planted the box-and head downhill into pine country. WATCH YOUR STEP as the path doesn't slope as much as it drops at times. At the end go left, then take a right onto a small trail 16 steps after you turn onto this trail. Look for 2 giants alternating with woodpecker restaurants on the right. In front of them are some downed limbs and a small stump. Behind the right restaurant/large stump 'in' the fallen log is the box. When the ice is melted please re-hide better than I am leaving it on 3/26/08
To get back to your car return to the last 'main' trail and go right. When you reach the MAIN trail, go left. Pass a sweet cat or 2, cross a bridge and soon you'll be back at your car.
Being fall, this is prime cross country season so be watchful of runners from many schools on the trails.
There may be a charge to enter during the summer.

Have fun and be safe!
