Introduction:
The trail was begun from the Lillooet end, in 1873 and continued the next year, great difficulty being encountered along the rocky terain. The whole of the distance between Lillooet and Burrard Inlet was 164 miles.
Although the trail was built for moving cattle, in 1877 due to the severity of the tail Mr. Robert Carson’s cattle were the first, last and only cattle to come all the way down the trail to Burrard Inlet.
Getting you close:
From South of Vancouver's Second Narrows Bridge, head East on 7A for about 14km, parallel the Burrard Inlet. Wrap around Port Moody by taking a left on Ioco Road. In 4.5km, take a right on 1st Ave, and in 0.7km turn left on Bedwell Bay Road for another 5km. You'll see the park on your left. Park south of the intersection of Midden Rd. and Bedwell Bay Rd.
The Box:
Across the road is a single yellow post, take this trail going right at the wire rope. Continue down the trail staying left. When the trail dips look for the narrow trail dropping to the right, walk to the Bedwell Bay. On your way up the trail look for he first step. Stop and look to the right for a small log, under its down hill side is a rock covering the box.
Please rehide well, sprinkle some leaves on the box to make it look natural. Thanks,
