Status as of 4/18/09: The box was found, but all the contents have gone missing. Please stay tuned and the Campin' Troll might go camping again in Durant Nature Park some day. - - kdmae
Durant Nature Park
Located at Durant and Camp Durant Roads, between Capital Blvd. and Falls of the Neuse Road, North Raleigh.
Park closes at dusk.
BYOSP&P (bring your own stamp pad & pen)
Compass may be useful but not necessary.
Park the car, walk past the Park Office and yellow gate at the SE corner of the lot, and down the hill. At the bottom, turn right, go past the docks. Veer left at the split so you are on the path nearest the water. Continue on past the boathouse to the rustic camping area.
36 steps N-NW of the campfire pit, the troll is taking shelter. (the shelter to the left of the water spigot). Find him 7 feet up, on the left, on a rafter.
After visiting The Campin' Troll, continue on the path around the lake or backtrack to the parking lot.
