Driving Directions:
From the junction of I-70 & Hwy 63 in Columbia, take Hwy 63 North. Take the exit Rt B/Hallsville, go right. Hallsville is approx 10 miles. Once in Hallsville, at the flashing light, turn right onto Hwy OO. On the right, you will notice Tribble Park, you have begun to find where the sidewalk ends!
History: I wanted to start our first LB based on my favorite childhood book - Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein. Our box has been named 'Uncle Shelby' after the author. Enjoy the walk!
Clues:
Entering the park you will see the art of children who are always at play. Go here to find the end of the sidewalk. Stay on the pavement – not the gravel path – for pavement is right! Then the sport you seek is neither right or left of tennis courts or playgrounds, but straight ahead!
Stay straight & do not veer for ‘The Dirty Dozen’ are near.Be sure to greet Mr. Richard on your left! Pass the four memories you are near, Anderson & Anderson then, South & Toalson.
You have followed the correct path if you see a neighboring saint 20 degrees to your right line of sight. The saint may be hidden by greenery but he will appear.
At the end of the sidewalk what will you see? Only a very large tree. Could this be your giving tree? However, where the tree has been marred either the right or left branch – you are near the end of this path. At the back of the giving tree you will see a large divide 7ft tall what happened? Who knows? But when you look at the base you will find the gift of this tree.
