Mom-ism 5, 6, 7, and 8 are all hidden at Johnston Family Cemetery. To find the cemetery, take Rt 66 North (maybe slightly NW) out of Piqua.

You will pass a city cemetery on your left-Forest Hill. A short way past this cemetery you will see a small park…just a simple roadside pull off called Roadside Park. Slow down..the entrance to Johnston Family Cemetery is only about ¼ mile past this park…also on the right but it is difficult to see as it sits far back from the road and up on a hill. You may not see it till you’ve past it. If you go to Hardin Rd (the next right) you’ve gone too far.

Box 1 is Mom-ism # 5

Follow the road around (either direction) to the top of the hill. Look for a LARGE family plot marker that says Ginn. (pretty near the road) Standing in front of this grave marker take a compass reading of 300° You should be looking at a group of graves with a wrought iron fence around them. Walk to this area and enter the fence. In the far NW corner of this fence you will see a tall monument with the name Davies on it. Under the base of this marker is what you seek.

Box 2 is Mom-ism # 6

From the Ginn marker take a compass reading of 200°. You’ll see a low stone wall containing three tall headstones. One of these markers is placed at the grave of Rachel Johnston. If you are looking at Rachel’s name, the box you seek will be behind you in the wall. Do not confuse this with a metal box that is a geocache.

Box 3 is Mom-ism # 7

Once again from Ginn’s marker head due north. You will see a stone with the name Gillespie on it. It is flanked by three cedar trees. Within these trees is what you want.
** We give credit to Safari Man for his idea of letterbox “pouches” as this was too tight of a fit for a traditional box. This original box turned up missing. This is a replacement (4-20-08). Please rehide well without making it look hidden. Thrse have been people about as these graves had been recently tended.

Box 4 is Mom-ism #8

Look 160° from Ginn ( “a-ginn” * smiling* ) Walk towards a huge wild cherry tree. Under it are two stone slabs lying flat on the ground. One is broken and one is whole. The box you seek in under the unbroken stone but you should reach in from the side facing the broken stone.

Please let us know if you have any trouble. And let us know the condition of our boxes.
Thanks
