The Mystery of the Maplewood Dispatch

For this letterbox you can park either in the parking lot of Rite Aid or on Maplewood Rd. The clues begin at the Quaker Meetinghouse on Montgomery Ave and Meetinghouse Lane. PLEASE re-hide this box well and enjoy!!!
~ Bender Aang and Colonial Jefferson

On the chilly morning of the 20th of September,
Charlotte arrived to the Meetinghouse as a member,
But before she had a chance to remove her warm shawl,
Another member, William, pulled her behind a wall.
He gave a letter and then explained in a whisper,
About what was inside of the envelope he had given her.
“Inside are directions to a message that was thought to be lost,
It is to be found and delivered to General Washington at all cost,
As a woman you will not be as much suspected,
And it would be devastating if the letters were detected,
Will you follow his orders exactly as written,
Else all hope of independence be smitten?”
To this Charlotte responded, “I will”
Then tightened her cloak to combat the chill,
She opened the contract to which she had agreed,
And quickly Charlotte began to read.
“Head to John Dickenson’s house ASAP,
And there you will find another dispatch from me,
Let no Red Coats see you as I have a suspicion,
That a traitor’s among us and is aware of your mission.”
Charlotte set off thru the cemetery’s new gate,
And passed the headstones that had been erected of late,
Then followed the path that lead her to the right
And walked beside the Inn to the road that was in sight,
Then she made a left and headed with caution,
To John Dickenson’s house as instructed by Washington.
Not a person was home when Charlotte arrived,
But by the next message she soon derived,
To head back towards the Meetinghouse at which she began,
And cross Meeting House Lane (diagonal it ran)
To find a granite stone marker then turn to the right,
And proceed straight to the park General Wayne had in his sight.
Here she found two paths, one woody, one not,
But went with the first as it would provide better cover she thought,
After only a small stroll Charlotte found,
A Red Coat had discovered her lurking around,
She hid behind a tree until the coast was clear,
Then continued straight on, aware the letters were near.
Near the end of the trail came a set of stone stairs,
She went up one flight and found the letters from Washington there.
Although this mission has ended my friend,
Take care, for you know not who’s around the bend.
