RETIRED 11/18/2015 - the box is not there and won't be replaced.

NOTE 03/02/2011: With 4Dtoes' blessing I adopted these clues because I think they are so funny and didn't want them to go to waste on a box that is missing. I put a new box with a new carving (not even similar to the original because I don't know what the original looked like) in the old location and hope you enjoy the whole experience. Please contact me with information about the condition of the container and the log book should they need maintenance. -- Calli-K.

NOTE 11/18/2015: The box is missing again, so I'm going to just retire it. The canyon has gotten so busy over the years, it's hard to put a box down there that doesn't get found by people who aren't letterboxers.

The original clues, with very minor changes, are as follows:

Never, Eat, Soggy, Waffles
This is a simple way to remember your directions. My kids use it all the time. See if it works for you!
Have Fun!

DIRECTIONS:
From Hwy 126 (Highland Ave.) Go "Never" on Rimrock, (the light at the High School). Continue "Never" through the next light at which the street becomes 19th Ave. Look for Jackpine Avenue on the "Eat" side of the road and head "Eat" on Jackpine. Continue until you come to a "T". This is Rimrock Dr. Head "Soggy" until you come to West Canyon Rim Park.

CLUES:
From the park locate the black path that leads down into the canyon. Follow this path "Eat" until you come to a "T". Head "Soggy" and continue past a place to picnic (picnic table is gone as of 03/08/2012, but that is not to say it might not be put back - look for a place where one might have been) and a lonely juniper just off the trail on the "Eat" side. A clear-cut is on the "Waffle" side just past the tree. Go "Waffle" across the clear-cut to a dirt path near the "Waffle" wall. Go "Never" on this path. About 125 to 150 yards up this path notice some shrubs and a small juniper on the "Waffle" side of the trail. A bit further are 4 more shrubs [burned by a brush fire summer of 2011 but showing signs of regeneration Oct. 2011] and an old dead juniper [also burned but not too badly] lying on its side pointing to the path. (NOTE 11/02/2014: During a recent windstorm a huge live juniper tree fell right on top of the old dead one mentioned above, but the hiding place is still valid and actually a bit more private now.) Walk "Waffle" along the "Never" side of the old juniper to where roots meet rock. Step over the base of the old tree and look under the biggest boulder near the roots. If you're careful you should be able to hide the box completely out of sight without piling rocks directly on top of it. Thanks for visiting!
