1/7/07 BOX CHECKED AND OK

Although I am listed as the planter, I am actually the adopter of this box.

Driving directions: This box is located in the South Kingstown Land Trust on Post Rd in South Kingstown. Take Rt 1 to Moonstone Beach Rd north towards Perryville Center. Turn left at stop sign. Go approx. 1/2 mile to park at the cemetary on right hand side of road. If you get back out to Rt 1 you went too far.

Ticks are a danger here; take appropriate precautions.

Welcome to SKLT's DuVal Trail quest!
We really do hope that you'll do your best.
Start to the left of the spooky, yet solemn, place,
Hike along our trail with sometimes steep face.
Discover as you go what was left behind
When the glacier stopped along this line.
The glacial moraine is where you are -
With kettle holes and hills dramatic by far.

Imagine if you can a glacier with ice and rock
Plowing the ground ahead, pushing huge blocks.
On our trail you climb the moraine's hills and valleys,
Which formed Worden Pond and left much land swampy.

When a main path forks off to the east,
Continue your quest straight ahead - delay not in the least.
Count if you wish from the fork about 110 paces
To a small rise amongst green forested spaces.

Atop this rise where the path turns to stone, discover above
A place of contemplative beauty and dedicated in love.
‘Tis Polly's Rock you have found atop this small rise -
Sit and take in the view, and reflect on the skies.

Nestled amongst the trees and quiet, feel a release!
Find yourself marveling at the solitude and peace
Polly too found these woods her special place,
So special she gave them to be saved, with grace.

When you feel refreshed by the view and the peace,
Remember the Quest box and look off to the east!
Behind Polly's Rock you'll find, when you look,
A pair of large stones and between them a crook.

Nestled into this space you'll find what you seek!
Sign into our book with the day or the week.
Also please take a pretty brochure that will tell
All that the South Kingstown Land Trust does well.

If questions you have, answers we would like to provide.
Call us sometime, to save land without undue divide!
