This letterbox is located right outside of Zanesville, Ohio. It is located at a branch of the oldest university in the Northwest that dates back to 1804! This branch was added in 1946. It is a major research university with 50 full-time faculty members. One can get an associate, bachelor or master's degree, community education, business or industrial training.

To get to this letterbox, take route 146 west out of Zanesville. On the right, you will see the Ohio University of Zanesville Campus. Wait to turn in at the main gates. Making a right turn, continue around the right side of the buildings, going to the back of the campus but not turning left. Park on the right. You will be able to see a wooden sign that has a small roof over it. That is the entrance to the Collegial Woods. Take the gravel walking path to the place where the trail makes a left turn. Don't turn left, but continue straight on a grass path labeled the "locust" path. You will spot 3 wooden posts. Starting there, count approximately 116 steps on the path. You should be at a place where the path starts to go uphill. Look for a fallen hollow moss- covered tree on your left. Go to the far end of the log and the letterbox is in the end of that tree. This is our first stamp but it is definately one-of-a-kind!

Please snap the box lid back on tight. It is supposed to be waterproof! We hope you enjoy finding this letterbox and hope to plant more in the Zanesville area! It was taken so we hope to replace it soon:(
