This letterbox is in Kirkwood Park. To reach the park take the Dougherty Ferry exit off of Highway 270 and go east. Turn right (south) on Ballas Rd, which turns into Adams. At the lower entrance to the park, on Rifle Range Dr, turn right and park opposite the Kirkwood Police Rifle-Pistol Range.
To the letterbox:
Walk southeast past the shuffleboard court to the footbridge over the creek. Follow the path uphill, taking the left fork. Soon you will come to a second fork--take the left one. Cross over the little creek which intersects the path and walk up the long hill. The path curves to the right and to the left, and several minor paths sprout off the main one. Don't take them, but follow the main path in its winding downward way, keeping to the left when it forks. At the tall tree with outspread roots, descend to the creek bed. Cross over the creek on the stepping stones but don't ascend to the opposite bank. Instead turn right and walk along the creek bed. The box is under a pile of small logs next to a huge moss-covered fallen tree on the bank near where "the creeks be three."
