Mom-ism # 13 is also located at Rose Hill Cemetery. (I'm showing a dreadful lack of initiative here in finding new hiding spots.)
The cemetery is at the NE corner of St Rt. 55 ( Market Street) and Staunton.
West of the cemetery ( across Market Street) is the Board of Ed office and South of the cemetery ( across Staunton) are ball fields)
We could find NO sign or any markings with the cemetery name on it. I have been in Troy for 30 years and have never seen a sign here. If you are going North on Market, just past the end of the cemetery's stone wall there is a driveway to a small church. Turn right into this drive. ( Left, of course, if you’re coming south) Usually there are no church goers here except during Sunday worship hours (Not sure if this includes Sunday evenings or not)
Drive straight back as far as you can go…even onto the grass if necessary, keeping to the far right side of the church property. Not sure where the division of property is here. You will see some tall metal posts that look like they may have held a gate once upon a time. Drive past these too.
When you get out of your car walk back the way you just drove in until you are about even with the church's "steeple". With your back to the church, start at the top of a small rise in front of you and count about 50 steps.
When we were small, my mother would play a "hide the object" game with us. As we would get nearer and nearer to the target, mom would say, "You're getting warmer". If we drifted away, she would say, "You're getting colder." If we got right up to the hiding place she would say, "hot".
You should be at a monument that's three tiers. Bottom is dark, two upper sections of it are almost white. Let me just say "you're HOT"
