This letterbox is dedicated to Auntie Vickie who is normally not afraid of anything!

Terrain: Can be rocky, some ups and downs
Time: 45 minutes (or longer if you do the Wolf Pits Letterbox)

Location: Lynn Woods Reservation.
Great Woods Road, off of Lynnfield Street, Lynn MA.
For a trail map and more information: http://www.flw.org/maps.html
I strongly suggest printing out a map and bringing it along as it clearly shows where the trail markers are located!

The Wolf Pits Letterbox and the Scary Frog Letterbox form a nice loop if you do them at the same time!

CLUES:
Follow the parking lot all the way to the end. The trail begins to the right of the little brick building at the far end of the parking lot. Follow Ox Pasture Road up and into the woods. Walden Pond will be on your left. Continue walking for about 15 minutes until you come to an intersection at the end of the cove. Notice a no swimming sign on your left. Just a few steps further, on your left, you will see the entrance for Overlook Trail (marker E5-1). Take this trail over a short boardwalk and you will soon come to a Y intersection (D5-8). Take the trail to the left. You will go up a hill by some cool boulders and then back down again where you will come to another intersection (D4-2). Take the trail to the left. The trail will slightly curve to the right. Keep going straight down the trail which will bring you through Meeting House Swamp. Do not take trail marked D4-4 unless you feel like taking the longer trail. You should see a sign for Meeting House Swamp on your left. You will follow a very long boardwalk through the swamp. The trail will then curl up and around some big rocks. Just a bit further you will come to intersection D4-1. Look to the left and see the Great Frog Boulder! Can you see the frog? Don’t be scared…yet! Check it out if you’d like but come back to this spot and continue on the trail which will bring you around toward the back of Frog Boulder. About 50 or so steps from the Great Frog Boulder sign, you will come to a red trail marker. Just a few steps further you will see some lichen covered rocks on your right. Step over the rotted log and you will find the Scary Frog Letterbox in front of and underneath the boulder.

To find the Wolf Pits Letterbox and to see some great views, continue on the red trail or turn around and retrace your steps to get back to the parking lot.
