7/16/2007 - This box is confirmed MIA. Will retire for the time being as we are from out of state. Sorry!

This box is placed in honor of our ill fated family spring break vacation to Colorado. We had been staying in Keystone for the week and skiing at Copper Mountain each day. As it happens on Wednesday my son and I went dog sledding. My husband and my step-son decided to ski at Keystone for the day. Right after lunch they apparently deiced to “race” down a terrain park at Keystone. Neither had been down it before. Well, as you can imagine my husband fell and landed on his back off of one of the jumps. He had 8 broken ribs and his left collar bone was shattered in 3 places. We spent the next 3 day’s at Saint Anthony’s Hospital. The drive back to Idaho was a long one after that. In honor of that historic family vacation Dixie Peach just planted this box in Keystone for me. Happy hunting and hopefully safe skiing too!

Find the Keystone Medical Center via River Run Village on East Keystone Road. From Keystone Road, you will run into a fork in the road at The Timbers. Hang right and pass the Key Condos immediately after turning (the condos will be on the right side of the road). Go straight ahead through the parking lot and you will see the Medical Center at the base of the mountain near the Argentine Lift. Find the island in front of the Medical Center with the tall red fire hydrant. It will be towards the left front of the building a couple parking rows back. Near the hydrant is a large rock under some small Aspen trees. Penguin Peril is hidden beneath some rocks nestled under the tree and the large rock and a small bush.

Should you note the box missing, it’s contents in bad repair or if you just want to say “Ouch!” please contact me at Blackvelvetrav@yahoo.com. Because I am from Idaho it may take assistance from the great Colorado boxers to make any repairs to this box. Thank you & happy penguin hunting!
