I HAVE RETIRED THIS BOX, AS IT HAS NOW SEEN A FULL YEAR'S CYCLE OF STAMPS. FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO MISSED SOME (AND THERE WERE SEVERAL PEOPLE WHO DIDN'T MISS A SINGLE ONE), I PLAN TO PLACE THEM ON A TRAIL PERMANENTLY SOMEWHERE IN THE NEAR FUTURE.

THANKS FOR YOUR INTEREST!

This is a "living" letterbox. The Holidays stamp will change according to whatever we are celebrating at the moment, although the hiding place will remain the same. My plan is to leave a holiday stamp in for at least a few weeks if not a month, to give boxers plenty of time to find it. I will always update this site the same day I replace a stamp, so check back often to see if a new visit is called for!

Directions:

On Mesker Park Drive, just north of the amphitheater, you will see an entrance sign for Mesker Park. (This is the picnic area of the park, not the zoo, so you won't have to pay to enter). Very soon after you enter the park, you will see a gravel pull-off on your left. Pull over and park here. Just up ahead, also on your left, tucked among the trees, is a beautiful stone arched bridge, which I am willing to bet was built by the WPA.

Cross the bridge and continue straight across the grass and cross the road. Head right, following the edge of the woods until you come to a poured concrete pad toward the end of the park. (I believe this will be the base for a picnic table eventually, although when I was there it was an empty pad.) If you stand on the concrete rectangle, one of the corners will clearly point the way to the prize you seek.
