Bethel cemetery is located on Bethel road twp 12 West of State route 93 and south of Old Swan School ("Handywork") along the farm of the Late Lawrence Bray. If you turn the wrong direction from 93, you will find Ravenswood castle.

The cemetery is on the right side of the road, Bethel church was torn down years ago. Park along the road and enter between the two wooden posts.

Many founders of the Swan community rest here, Karns, Nixon, Haas, Bray, Earnheart and others. Many tied to each other through marriage over the early years with several in my family tree.

Columbus Marion Crow was a descendant of Christian Crow of New England. Christian joind the American Revolution on St. Patrick's day in 1777
.
Poor Fletcher Earnheart died of Influenza at Camp Sherman in Chillicothe while training to join WWI.

There were many settlements throughout Swan township, Hue, Locust grove, Stella and a few others. Each had their own shops and stores, most long gone.

To find out what removed the importance of these small towns or 'What killed the small town', continue with the clues.

Clues:

Upon entering, locate The dark grey Eli Nixon stone on the left. Follow that row to Columbus 'Clum' Crow. Check out the cedar tree beside Uncle Clum and see the killer of small towns in America.
