Sunset Pond
From I-5, take exit 255, turn east onto Sunset Drive. Turn left onto Orleans street and follow it along behind Kmart and several other stores to James Street Road. Turn right. Sunset Pond is a short ways at the bottom of the hill on the right. Park there, and follow the north trail. This starts out as a nice gravel path, coming to a view of the pond and 2 benches. Then head along the dirt path. This is a little left of a smaller path. Meander along crossing several mostly dry creek beds, roots and a small wooden crossing. Staying to the right you will eventually come to an awesome cedar tree in the middle of the path. From this tree go 18 paces up the path to find a large clump of 11 Birch trees on the right. What you seek is within. Worth noting a few steps ahead is a large tree with the bottom covered with moss. Please take time to recover the box carefully from view.
NOTE: May be muddy after rain.
