This and That
This is a 2 box series. Boxes are done by Sunshine and Swamp Yankee.
This series is at Hurd Park, East Hampton, CT. on Rte. 151. There is a traffic light at the intersection of 151 and Hurd Park Road. Turn in here. Go about a mile to the right hand turn for the park entrance. It is marked by stone walls and sign. The park supervisor told Sunshine that the gate will be closed for the winter at the middle of December. After turning into the park, travel for a bit and watch for a paved, right turn. It is clearly marked with a park sign for the shelter/ballfield/youth camping. Follow this to the end to the parking area. Walk just past the shelter to the LARGE oak tree.
Enter the white trail at a fencepost at 335* from the large oak. Stay on white passing two old quarry sites on your right. Is that a coyote howling? Continue on white, as the trail turns sharply to the right and starts going uphill. Very soon, across the trail from a wolf tree, up the hill on your right, a spooky dead tree will be looking right at you. Look on the ground between the 2 sisters for a famous mystery investigator. Box#1 Sherlock Holmes
Keep going on white. After a bit you’ll see a large backwards “Y” on the left. The left arm points to a 3 sister oak that is growing out of rocks. On the ground in the middle of the sisters under rocks is Box #2 Ace of Hearts
To get back to the starting point, simply retrace your steps.
As always, PLEASE rehide the boxes well before you go on.
Thanks!!
