Bring your own ink pad. There are two ways to get to this letterbox. 1) from the bottom (This is a fairly difficult, vertical stone stair climb. There is a $5 parking fee) and 2) from the top (This is a very short, milder hike. There is a fee to drive up the road to the summit).

1) Starting at Wachusett Mountain State Reservation Welcome Center. Hike begins at Map Sign.

Take "Bicentennial Trail"," then follow "Pine Hill" to the right, up the stone stairs.

On the sheer rock at the top of the stairs, you can take a well deserved break. The worst is over.

Follow the crosswalk across the road.

Very soon, you'll see a tree with 3 trunks followed by a line of four carved trees. You'll see a few more carved trees near two large stones.

The letterbox is hidden on the uphill end of the lighter gray stone in the back.

2) From the summit walking down "Pine Hill" trail.

Hike down until you see two large stones about twenty paces off the right side of the trail, followed by a line of carved trees.

The letterbox is hidden on the uphill end of the lighter gray stone in the back.
