The Nature Realm is located in the S.A. Seiberling Summit County Metropark.
This is the final box of the Fall Spree Series. If you completed all 8 hikes you can turn in your form at the Nature Realm counter and get your badge.
The Fernwood trail qualifies for the Spree Hikes. Start out following the Cherry lane trail. Cross over the suspension bridge, you can feel the bounce as you cross. You can stop and rest at the bench that overlook the valley. You'll then head up the ridge and follow the top of the ridge. On the left handside of the trail is a trailmarker and a section of fence. Just past this fence look off to the right at the odd tree that curves left about 4 feet off the ground, Unique. Right hand turn and down the slope. Spot the sign marking the end of fernwood trail. Stand at the sign looking past it to the left. There is a large birch tree with holes in the trunk. The letterbox is hidden in the lowest hole. Continue up the hill and sit for a spell on Stephanie's bench and look out at Echo Pond. Follow the trail past the iron gazeboes and back to the parking lot.
