Bailey's Box

This letterbox was placed in memory of our dog, Bailey, who loved to explore the Ames Nowell State Park. The hike should take about an hour. To get to the park, take Rt.18 to Rt. 123W. Take the first right(Rockland St.) Bear left at the fork and turn right at the end, onto Linwood.
There are several paths from the parking lot. Follow any one and bear left, over the small wooden bridge/dam and around the lake.
You will notice a large rock on the left of the path and a bench to the right. Standing between the two, look ahead and slightly to the right. You will see a path with several log steps. Follow it.
The path will lead slightly uphill, then down and to the left. You may pass several muddy areas. It is easiest to stay left of the mud. The path will rise slightly uphill, then turn to the left. Continue on.
You will come to a squared rock on the right. 5 paces past this rock, you will see a thin fallen tree on the right. Continue on the path, bearing right at the fork.
You will notice a lone, rounded rock on the right. Follow the path for 60 paces. On the left, set into the woods, you will see a large rock outcropping. Climb the outcropping and follow it from the path to the back. At the rear of the outcropping, on the left, separate from the outcropping, is a moss covered rock. Look under this rock,to the left. There you will find Bailey's box covered with leaves and small rock. Don't forget to replace the letterbox and hide it from muggles. Good luck and happy letterboxing!
