These boxes are bicycle friendly and is an easy find for beginners
Head down rt. 6 west from Bristol cross under rt 8 take right onto rt 222 North.
Go past Thomaston dam on your left continue until you reach the Leadmine brook entrance. Once in follow down until you see a small bridge on your right, go over bridge turn right at first yellow gate and park here. Go through the gate and head down a wide old road notice a small river on your right down a steep bank. Look for a smaller stream flowing into it on the far side, stop and look to your left you should see two very big pine trees, between these two trees in the stone wall you will find “creation for wildlife box”
CONTINUE DOWN THE TRAIL TO THE CREST OF THE NEXT HILL AND TO THE LEFT YOU WILL SEE FIVE OR SIX PINE TREES GROWING ONTOP OF A ROCK ABOUT THE SIZE OF A BASKETBALL, JUST BEHIND THIS BUNCH OF TREES IS A SMALL FALLEN TREE WITH A SMALL ROCK. REHIDE AND I HOPE YOU ENJOYED THE HIKE.
This trail will only go a little farther to a bridge that is under construction “fall of 06” Looks like some nice fishing holes in the spring though.
