ITEMS NEEDED:

Compass

DIFFICULTY:

Moderate. You will be walking a gravel path. A climb up a hillside is required. Wear good shoes with traction.

DIRECTIONS:

From Interstate 80, exit onto Salt Springs Road (exit 226). Go South on Salt Springs Road until Salt Springs Road turns into Meridian Road. (Salt Springs Rd goes to the left, you want to continue straight). Stay on Meridian Road until you come to Mahoning Ave. Turn left onto Mahoning Ave. Take Mahoning until you come to Milton. Turn right onto Milton. This will take you into Millcreek Park. As soon as you enter into the park take the road to the left. You will be looking Glacier Lake. Turn right and follow the signs to the Lily Pond.

Clues:

Park in the lot at the Lily Pond. Walk to the gravel trail that goes along the right side of the pond. Take this trail until you cross a small foot bridge and come to a trail that goes to the right. At this intersection look for a “NO FISHING SIGN” facing away from you that is approximately 1 foot tall. From that sign walk 108 steps (step = 1). When you come to 108 stop. To your right you should be able to see a stream. To your left there should be a large tree with a small sapling growing at an arch in front of it. Start up the hill to the right of these two trees. Continue up the hill until you come to an area where the incline levels out. From this area take a compass reading of 130 degrees. Walk in the direction of the 130-degree reading until you come to a very large tree. The trunk would measure about 7 feet around. Stop at this tree and look past it for another tree similar in size. Walk to this next tree and look behind it for fairly large twisted tree limbs lying on the ground. The box is hidden within these twisted limbs.

Please be sure that all baggies are sealed, that the lock & lock lid is closed securely, and that the box is hidden from all angles with the bark available.

After finding the box you may continue up the rest of the hill to an upper path that will loop around bring you back to the parking lot. As you come to the end of this path you will see a road. Across the road is a gray building. Restrooms are located in this building.

As always, happy hunting!
