Sir Ty’s Shield

This Letter Box is dedicated to my little Knight. This park is not on any map, but the trail head can be found at the end of Northwood Road in West Caln, it is called Sadsbury Preserve. Sadsbury Preserve has been called the “Enchanted Forest” and after you have been there you will see why.

Park in the designated lot and proceed to the trailhead where you will find a map of the Preserve. There are never any maps for hikers, so I suggest you take your digital camera and take a photo for reference. Also the blue trail is not correctly labeled it is really red.

Take the white trail into the preserve and break off right onto the Yellow trail. This will take you to the quarry. On your way to the quarry enjoy the many sights and sounds of over 40 species of wild birds that call the Preserve home.

After you pass the access road you will be looking for a fallen tree that has an orange dot on it near the roots, next to this tree there is a second tree with a orange dot and circle on it.

Take a bearing from the fallen tree with orange dot of 150 ° look for the tree that has a rock grown into the base, you will find the letter box behind this tree under some SPOR.

If you come to the quarry you have gone to far.
