Revised 3/4/07**

At the corner of River Road and Oregon Road this journey begins.
Park on Oregon after the bridge, or if there is no room maybe down the road a bit.
Pick your spot - the haunting will begin.
Now pass at your own risk and head northward into the Quinnipiac River Gorge.
Many Trees with nifty roots to the right.
Lots of neat rock formations along the way.
Enough of the hype – let’s enjoy this new place.
As you walk along the river you will notice white ghosts with orange heads
coming out of the ground - oh my!
You will pass a really skinny house** on the left.
As you walk enjoy the rapids as they rush down the river.
Soon another skinny house** appears on the right overlooking the remains of an old Dam.
**The "skinny houses" have been removed!
Just look for the old dam at the second powerline crossing.**
(***7/21/07 The Skinny houses are back!!)
The spook’s abode is getting near!
A bit down the road on the right by a culvert,
a tall oak tree is guarded by several small maple trees.
This is not his home, but the V shaped hemlock behind it is.
Brave you must be to look into the hollow!
Lift his slate door if you dare, because he’s out for the scare!
Happy Halloween to all and to all a good night.
