Natural Falls State Park

The rules of the park request that you stay on designated trails and pathways to preserve the ecology. This box is hidden off the trail, but not far.

Take the upper level bridge over the water falls (Dripping Springs).

Bear to your right (west) and follow the MAIN TRAIL. Do not follow the small paths close to the edge of the cliff.

As the gravel trail begins to descend, count 15+ paces, on your left look for a large limestone rock.

The box is hidden under the outcropping of the rock on the SW side.

Notes:
This box was hidden while the trees and shrubs were bare. I hope this area does not become too overgrown in the summer.

Background:
Natural Falls State Park is located within the Ozark Highlands region of easter Oklahoma. The dry, rocky ridgetop portion of the park is host to post oak, blackjack oak, and grasses. A totally different plant community is encountered down the trail that ends at the bottom of a 77-foot waterfall.

A handicapped accessible concrete path leads visitors to an observation platform to view the falls.

There may be an entrance fee ($3) at certain times of the year, but worth it!
