Finnegan’s What? - Just a Bike Ride, Day 6
Finnegan, one of the leaders of the bike tour was a mountain of a man. His strength was so great that he regularly broke crank arms, handle bars, and other parts of his bike. He used good quality equipment, too. Finnagan was always a kind and jovial man.
A few of the bicyclists went to dinner and decided to take the long way back to the motel. They had to chuckle at what they spotted on the backside of the motel. You’ll have to find the letterbox to see what tickled them so.
To read the continuing saga go to the clues for other boxes in the “Just a Bike Ride” Series.
GETTING YOU CLOSE
Go to Elgin park. Take 8th Avenue south and turn left on Cedar Street. The park shares the same driveway and is adjacent to Humaha RV Park. Day use parking is on the right
Appears to be a lot of bird life here. We spotted an osprey in pursuit of a fish, dipper birds, grouse, & a Downy (or Hairy?) Woodpecker
TO THE BOX
Please be discreet.
Walk down to the Grande Ronde river. If you’re quiet you might see wildlife. There are very interesting red rocks here too. Walk DOWNstream next to the trees. Keep your eye out for a campfire ring out of rocks in an opening in the trees. Walk past the campfire, under the arch. past table, over jump. Find quad tree reaching SW. Look behind and under rocks. Please rehide better than you found it. Sprinkling leaves on top of the rocks takes away the “fresh” look.
Hope you enjoyed the hunt. Since we don’t live in the area we can’t check on this box very often. We appreciate an update on it’s status.
