This letterbox is at Van Hook Park in Independence at the Crackerneck access.
Directions to the park.
Take I-70 to the Lee's Summit Road exit. Take Lee's Summit North past 35th street. Follow it over the bridge, through the light. Take the next right onto Crackerneck Rd. There should be a roadside park on your left. Continue down Crackerneck through the houses over a small bridge and around some turns. You will come to a stop sign at the bottom of a hill. Take a right into the park and park in the lot.
Directions to the letterbox.
Stand on the North East corner of the parking lot and face north. Walk down the hill about 60-70 steps to an unmarked trail head. Follow the trail until you reach a fork, take the path to the right. Contiue on until you find a pile of branches in the path and go around them. From the back side of the pile look to the south east. There is a big mossy rock about 15 steps off the path. Continue walking southeast around the rock until you get to the southeast corner. There is a smaller mossy rock leaning up to the big one in this crevice under the leaves is the box.
