Please bring your stamp, a stamp pad, compass, pen and an old rag to wipe off the box/your hands.

The "Safari Man- On The Highway/ and Interstate" series depicts things one might see as they drive the highways of the U.S. These are targeted mainly for rest stops but might pop up anywhere. This letterbox is titled REST STOP SYMBOL Happy traveling! This box reported possible missing as of 6/12/07 but not sure if they just could not find it.

Clues: Find Gallipolis in the South East Part of Ohio and find the rest stop on RT. 7 1.7 miles north of where RT 35 Silver Bridge replacement crosses over RT 7. Go to the upriver end of the parking area and park close to the wooden treatment plant enclosure. Walk at a heading of ~ 100* from there to the first large pine at the back corner of the wooden enclosure. Look behind this pine at the tree, in the bushes, closest to the pine and also the wooden fence. The REST STOP SYMBOL is in the base of this tree wedged between limbs. I hope it stays concealed when the leaves fall from the bushes and if it does not I would appreciate someone, unobserved, placing in on the ground behind the bush if it is better hidden. (From a recent finder, 6/1/08, report....box was hidden in bushes toward road instead of where clues said and replaced there) You can stamp in in your car or at a table but please place the log in one bag and seal it well and then place that bag and the stamp in another bag and seal it well, return the bag to the pouch and re hide it as found please. I hope you enjoyed your short hunt and will drop me a line on your results when back home. There is also a silver bridge box here in Gallipolis and another box 15 miles up river in Pomeroy if you have time. Have a Good Day....Safari Man
