Tulip Poplar
Poplar Bluff, Missouri was named after the many Tulip Poplar trees that were growing on the bluff where the town was built.

Find the Butler County Court House in downtown Poplar Bluff. It is on 2nd Street. Park in the lot on the East side of the court house. There is a tiny park on the east side of the lot. Read the sign about Poplar Bluff. When finished, face the court house and turn to your left. Follow the fence around the parking lot. At the end of the fence make a "U" turn to your left onto the concrete behind the fence. Count approximately 16 steps and you will be standing above the box. You will also be at the end of the concrete. Step off the concrete and turn back to court house and look by your feet. Be careful for things that live in holes like spiders and snakes and move the rock. There is the box. The picnic table would be a good place to do the logging.

Please return box and rock as it was and enjoy your visit to Poplar Bluff. Contact me at www.letterboxing.org
