Sydnie's Surprise LbNA #26876 (ARCHIVED)

Go to Mt. Gilead State Park located at 4119 State Route 95 (on the east side of the town of Mt. Gilead). Park at the camper registration offce/store. Walk east to the stop sign. Turn right at the stop sign and walk through the camping area till the paved road ends. The trail will be found at the sign marked as "Lakeside Trail". The trails at this park are moderate to difficult due to rugged terrain with steep inclines so be prepared. Follow Lakeside Trail across two wooden bridges till you get to a steep wooden staircase on your right. This staircase is marked as leading to "Sam's Creek Trail". Proceed up the staircase and follow the trail markers over two wooden bridges. At the second wooden bridge, count 13 footsteps from the end of this bridge. At your 13th footstep, look for the tree on your right. At the base of the tree facing the bridge, look for a hole. In the hole lies "Sydnie's Surprise".
