This is an excellent park if you enjoy letterboxing with your dog. It’s a DOG PARK!!
Location:
Hammel Woods Dog Park
Joliet / Shorewood Illinois
Dupage River Access - (http://www.fpdwc.org/hammel.cfm)
Take a picnic, there are plenty of places to sit and enjoy the day. They have a great fenced in area, 7 acres, so you and your pooch can play.
Park your car and get the dog and take the sidewalk towards the restrooms. As you get closer you will notice a dirt/gravel path to the right of it. Enter the wooded area.
“We’re not here for a picnic Spot”, so you take the path to the right.
“I said we’re not here for a picnic”, so you take the path to the right again.
“Listen, we are not here for a picnic”, so you take another right.
“Pay attention, we ARE NOT here for a picnic”, so you take a left.
“Don’t make me say it again, WE ARE NOT HERE FOR A PICNIC”, and you stay to the right.
At the “Y” you take a right, and take a few steps, but don’t go all the way in.
To the right, not to far off the path is a large tree that if you hugged it, no matter how long humans arms could stretch, your finger tips would never touch. Reach in the trunk and to the right, you will find what you have come for.
Now are you thinking, “Maybe I should have brought a picnic?”
No ink pad, choose your favorite colors.
Please rehid well.
Anyone notice that you could probably substitute your dog’s name with your significant other or child’s!
Please contact us and let us know your thoughts!
There’s a great first finders gift waiting for you.
