Once upon a time, there were three blind moose. On a mission to improve their lives, they had each independently traveled far from their various homes, but being blind they had no idea where they were. Being extremely thirsty, the first moose, Maxwell, went into a roadhouse by the name of Madeline’s and ordered a glass of California chardonnay to quench his thirst. Shortly after, a second moose, Matthew, entered Madeline’s and ordered a Texas cabernet. Soon Maxwell and Matthew struck up a conversation. As they were talking, a third moose entered the roadhouse. Michelle had a pretty accent and a hypnotic, lyrical voice, and the two male moose were immediately drawn to her. Michelle ordered a glass of French Beaujolais and a croissant. Max and Matt invited Michelle to join them and as they sipped their wine, a friendship began to blossom. The three moose were amazed to learn that they had so much in common. They discovered that they were all blind, had traveled long distances, and enjoyed fine wines. They learned from the waitress that they were in Grapevine, Texas. They also learned that the wine industry is a $170 million dollar business in Texas and there were several fine wineries located in Grapevine. Suddenly Michelle had a brilliant idea. “Mes Chers Amis!” she exclaimed “Surely with our fine palettes, we could form a partnership and find work as wine tasters.” So it came to past that the Three Blind Moose became the official wine tasters of the excellent wineries of Grapevine, Texas.

Clues:
To find the “Three Blind Moose?” letterbox, go to Rockledge Park on the north shore of Lake Grapevine. Between the City of Grapevine and Grapevine Mills Mall, turn on Fairway Drive, cross the dam and the entrance to the park is immediately past the spillway. Follow the entrance drive around to the far west parking lot. The North Shore Trail begins at the west end of this lot beyond the restrooms. It is a dirt trail, very heavily biked, especially on weekends, so be alert and ready to give right of way to bikes!

Begin at the trail sign and follow the trail as it winds around beside the lake along a ledge above the lakeshore until it passes through some large rocks. When the trail begins to leave the lakeshore and go uphill into the woods, you will cross a small wooden footbridge and then the trail narrows sharply between large rock outcroppings. At one point the main trail will split, and arrows will point both straight ahead and to the right – both trails converge again in a short distance so it doesn’t really matter which one you take, but the trail straight ahead is a little shorter. Almost a mile from the beginning of the trail, you will see a bench overlooking the lake off the trail to your left. Continue on the trail for a short distance passing the bench and soon you will see a wooden bridge. Immediately after crossing over the bridge, you will see a wooden post on your right with number one on it marking the first mile on the trail. Continue up an incline in the trail until you see a second post with an arrow and a white diamond on it. At that point, stand by the post and take a compass reading. You will see two trees at 80 degrees (East) approximately 25 feet away. Go to these trees and look under the small cedar tree just to the left of the second tree. You will see some sandstone rocks under the cedar and under the rocks will be the Three Blind Moose?
