This letterbox is dedicated to Roland Hayes (1887-1977). He was a Georgia Native and the 1st African American Classical Singer to have an international career. He could sing in seven different languages.

The box is planted near the Harris Art Center which houses the Roland Hayes Musuem and Music Gilde along with someother wonderful things. I thought this would be a good way for people to Discover Calhoun!

The box is NOW located inside the Harris Art Center that is well worth visiting. The Ladies of the Art Center look for ward to your visit. It is located on Wall Street in Downtown Calhoun.

Park in front of the Art Center. Stop on the sidewalk and admire the beautiful landscaping and the unique metal bike out front. Walk up the front steps to the porch--there is a marker on the porch stating that the building used to be The Rooker Motel in the 1930's. Go inside. Immediately to your left is the doorway to the Roland Hayes Museum. Standing in the doorway, look to your left for a with a guest registry and pamplets about the museum and the art center. The LB is located in the drawer of the table in a ziplock bag. My box was too fat for the drawer. :)

Please remember to hide as you found and to respect the property.
After stamping please take the time to visit the museum and the other areas of the art center.

Happy Letterboxing!!!!
