Allow 30 minutes round trip

From Route 2 East: take exit 10 and turn right at the end of the ramp. Go left at the stop sign onto New London Turnpike and fork right at the next intersection. At the stop sign at Country Club Road, go straight, then fork left, going over the highway (don't get on Route 2 here). When you get to the end, park in the cul de sac. Please don’t block the gate.

From Route 2 West: take exit 11, then turn right at the end of the exit and park at the cul de sac. Please don’t block the gate.

There is a sign posted indicating that the Glastonbury Shooting Range is here and says “No Trespassing”. However, this route is the access way for the blue Shenipsit Trail on this side of the highway, as pointed out in the CT Walk Book East.

Follow the gravel road, which will then turn to concrete. Continue until the concrete turns to dirt. At this point, follow the unmarked trail into the wood line to your right – down the hill to the stream. Walk along the embankment upstream until you reach a retaining wall. The northerly end will provide you with red galoshes. (or any color you wish to make them) Return the way you came.

Thanks again to Antiboxer2 for accompanying me and helping to find the perfect hiding spot!

Enjoy!
