Boo Boo Bear is hiding in Medfield, trying to stay out of Mr. Ranger's view.

Directions: Noon Hill (A Trustees property)

http://www.thetrustees.org/pages/342_noon_hill.cfm

This is a very popular spot with families and dogs. Most dogs here are off-leash, so if this is a problem for your children, or your dog, please be fore-warned. There is also a great pond here that many people enjoy swimming their dogs in (not for human swimming!).

Hike time: About an hour, plus stamping in. Includes a strenuous hill climb.

From the parking lot, take the trail headed West. After a few minutes hiking, a numbered trail will come in on your right, take it. Follow to the T intersection, and take the trail at 220 degrees.

Cross over the motorized vehicle way, pass a knee-high cut-down stump on your right. Continue on, and look for a V shaped oak tree, with a deadfall log in between the V.

45 steps. Notice the stone wall on the left, with a T intersection, and take the trail on your right. Up the hill, trail turns left, then follow across first out-cropping, around to the right. At second out-cropping, stay to the left. Climb up.

Look for med-large tree that is snapped off about 12 feet up. Full of woodpecker holes. With back to tree, facing a small tree with axe cuts, take a reading of 190. Go to that large rock with a deep crevice. Under the leaves and parallel sticks (in the crevice), you will find a large box, Boo Boo bear's cave.

PLease replace with care, I believe teens hang out up here.

Follow trail back down to main trail and turn right (to continue in the direction that you were going). Follow around the bend. Look for the secret hideway to your right (after a bit). Continue to follow the trail, and when it intersects a much larger one, turn left to head back to the parking lot and your car.

Enjoy!
