This is a LIMITED EDITION letterbox. It will ONLY be available:

Wed, Nov 22, 2006 [the Wed before Thanksgiving]
from 3-7 pm
at the Wise Road CULVER'S in SCHAUMBURG

The local radio station 9FM will be broadcasting live at this Culver's from 10-7 on Wed 11/22/06 in conjunction with their food drive to feed the hungry at this holiday season. Culvers will be accepting financial donations as well as donations of non-perishable food items for the local food bank while the radio station is broadcasting.

Kiddy Writer and I have gotten together to create a letterbox in conjunction with this event. KW carved the stamp, and I created the logbook.

I will be at this Culver's in SCHAUMBURG during the 3-7 pm broadcasting time. [maybe as early as 2:30 -- as soon as I can get there from work]

I will be sitting in the dining room, enjoying lunch or frozen custard, or maybe reading a book or doing some needlework. I will have the box on my table with me.

To acquire this box you must:

- bring a donation -- either financial or of non-perishable food item[s] -- for the radio station food drive

- find the woman sitting at a table with a box [there may be others at my table -- see below]

- come up to me and say "I [WE] ARE HERE TO GIVE THANKS."

- show me your donation

Then you may join me at my table to stamp your book. Please make sure you give your donation to the employees collecting as well.

FYI -- this is a very special logbook I made in a Tim Holtz** class using his Ranger Industries product line and alcohol inks, and all the pages are different colors, and multicolored or patterned. This little book has been on display in an art show since July and is now ready to be put to some use.

I will have a black inkpad with me for you to use in stamping my logbook. If you prefer to use colors with your stamp, you will have to find a page where your ink colors do not clash. [I will also have cream colored cardstock with me that you may stamp on, and I could then cut your stamp out and tuck it into one of the book's tag pockets, if that is a better option for you.] This book has only 22 spots and I hope to fill them all. I will be there until the radio station stops broadcasting at 7pm, maybe a bit later.

**Tim Holtz is an altered artist, an amazing creative inspiration, and an all-around cute guy. He is the Designer and Senior Educator for Ranger Inks. He travels the US [and world -- I beleive he has done CKU Japan and CKU Europe] teaching classes in advanced inking and altered arts. His website is: http://www.timholtz.com/

A gallery of some of his projects is: http://www.timholtz.com/gallery/

To find the Culver's, take 90 West to the Roselle exit. Pay the toll and turn left, to go south. Go to Wise Rd and turn right, or West. The Culver's in on the right -- north -- side of the street, next to a gas station. Wise Road also interects with Irving Park Rd a little bit west of the restaurant. You can also get off 90 at Barrington Road south [or 59 if you are coming from Elgin or parts west], take Barrington Rd to Irving Park Rd, turn left -- East -- and look for Family Video, just past Menards. The road branches there and take the left hand fork -- you can see the Culver's from that corner. You can also take the Elgin O'Hare expressway to Irving Pk Road but then it's a bit tricky to find it. [try mapquuest]
