**I checked on this box on 6/26/07 and everything was in good condition. I was happy to see it was the first find for many families!**

This box was placed on Thanksgiving Day by our family. Four kids carved stamps (our first attempt!) and placed them in this box.

Difficulty: Easy; suitable for kids

Terrain: Slight up-hill grade

To find this box, go to Richland Township Community Park (off of Route 8, just north of the Red Belt: from the PA turnpike, go north on Route 8 and exit at Bakerstown Road. Make a left on Bakerstown Rd, then a right at the stop sign. Go a quarter mile and you will see signs for the park.) Find the big white barn with the Rich Mar rotary sign. Park near the barn. Across the road from the barn, you will see a wide path that goes up the hill into the woods. (There was a chain across the path to keep motorized vehicles out.) Take this path up the hill for ~1/4 mile. Near the top of the hill spot a very large elm tree with 3 very large "trunks". Stop here. (If you come to a park bench on your left, you've gone too far.) To the right, look for a small path that goes between a cluster of sassafras trees. Go on this path for ~14 paces and find a red maple tree with 3 "trunks" on your left. (If you like compass bearings, this red maple is 110 degrees from the large elm tree.) Politely check the "crotch" of the red maple, which contains some dried leaves and twigs. (Hmmm....)

Happy Hunting!

This was our first time to this little park...have fun exploring!
