Sweetwater Creek State Conservation Park is at exit 44 (Thornton Road)off I-20 west of Atlanta. When you exit, go south 1/4 mile to Blairs Bridge Rd. Travel about two miles, turn left on Mt. Vernon to get to the entrance to the park. There will be a small fee ($3) to enter the park.

1. Upon entering the park, drive to the visitors center and go to the end of the lot.
2. There is a red marked trail at the end of the parking lot, take this trail.
3. Follow this trail towards the mill ruins.
4. Stay on the RED path.
5. You will pass a racoon.
6. Next you will pass a bench.
7. You should pass a blue jay.
8. Then you turn right and follow the creek.
9. After passing the opossum, you will turn right again.
10. Keep following the trail and stop when a trash can is on your right and bench is on your left.
11. Take 7 steps from there, and stay on the trail!
12. To your right is a big rock outcropping.
13. Walk towards the big rock, and before it is a smaller rock, about 3 ft wide by 18" high, with a log behind it. There you will find "Finding Your Way."
