From Brevard, take Hwy 276 West to Blue Ridge Parkway South. Go South on Blue Ridge Parkway to Black Balsam Road, which will be on the right. Go about 1 mile on Black Balsam Road, and park near Art Loeb Trail.
Start walking on Art Loeb Trail east; this will be right off of Black Balsam Road. Stay straight on trail and go past the solitary pine with low-hanging branch. Go over the first knob and through the following saddle. As you approach the top of the second knob, there will be an intersection with another trail; continue straight up to the top of the second knob. As you get closer to the top of the knob, bear right. From this point, you'll see on the trail a reddish rock with about a 2'notch. From this rock, go 10 paces, about one third towards a large outcrop on the south side of the knob. Turning right off the small trail, go 7 paces west, going downhill slightly to a small rock outcrop about 4-5' in length. Embedded in this outcrop you'l see a piece of white quartz about the size of a football. Standing just below this outcrop, looking back up the hill, look underneath the far right side of this outcrop, under a ledge. Remove a loose stone and find the treasure!
