Begin at the sign, head for the road. Go past mile four, cradled by steel. At the cradle’s end, look right for some lava steps. Go up the steps then down, following the trail as it follows the flow. Watch for big pink on your left. At this point you will see a chimney at 115 degrees (magnetic) and a tall, solo pine at 60 degrees. Ten steps uphill on Pink’s left side will bring you to an overhanging rock, home to the letterbox.

To find the second box, you must work your way to the base of the tall, solo pine. Continue on the trail, watching for a trio of trees across the river, different from the others. With these nonconformists at 245 degrees and a juniper snag at 85 degrees, go to the snag. It’s Peachy neighbor, five steps north, shelters the letterbox.
