THIS SERIES IS NOW RETIRED AS OF 8/14/09. The stamps started deteriorating so we pulled the boxes today. Please look for our other boxes in the Foxboro area which are still active! Thanks!

Our friend, Hounddog helped us place this series. We hope you have as much fun with it as we did!

The box is about a 2 mile hike, round trip, and will take about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Boxes 1-8 are micro boxes, and box 10 holds the series' only log, so rehide it especially well. Also, none of the boxes have ink pads, so bring an ink pad or markers.

Directions: To The Lane Conservation Land

From Rte. 495, take exit 14A towards Foxboro. Pass Gillette Stadium on the right, and at the next set of lights, turn Right onto North St. Follow for about a mile. (This is an approximation) You will pass the back VIP entrance to the stadium on your Right. You will soon be approaching a curve in the road where there are railroad tracks. Turn left at the flashing light onto a dirt road, right before the tracks. Go up the incline and turn right into the parking lot, there will be a sign to indicate the lot.

Clues:

1.Diglett

From the Parking lot, locate the stone that is dedicated to the Lanes. To the slight left is a short path. Go up this short inclining path, and when the path ends, turn right onto a paved path. At the first fork turn left. At the second fork, turn right. At the entrance to the clearing, look right. There is a hollow stump. Diglett lives inside the stump. After you stamp in rehide as well as possible.

2.Eevee

Now go over the grassy hill in the clearning and look straight ahead toward the water. In center of the clearing there is an old, twisted, triple tree right in the center. Hike down to this tree, and in the knot high up on the branch is Eevee. Stamp in and rehide as well as possible. This box was placed in December, but we suspect that the way may be difficult in mid-autumn because the grass may be high. At other times, you should have no problems with boxes 2 - 4.

3.Bellsprout

From the old tree, go in an southeasterly direction to an oak tree covered with lichens. Next to the tree is a wooden marker stating "rabbit". 10 steps to the right of the tree is a short path. Enter onto that path, and look to your right. Amidst a grove of trees which were clearly demolished in some storm, you will see to a huge fallen pine tree. Inside the right side of this log is where Bellsprout lives. Stamp in and rehide as well as possible.

4.Natu

Go back to the clearing and follow around the edge. Through the trees are two chairs and a big grey house. There is also an old birdhouse where Natu is living at the base under a rock. (There are two birdhouses, the correct one is the one that is still standing upright.) Stamp in and rehide as well as possible.

5.Cyndaquil

Go all the way back to the fork in the paved path. Turn left on to the path, away from your car. You will pass the other side of the gray house, and going further ahead you'll see a metal gate with a pillar on each side. Go around the gate and follow the path. (It is a little more woodsy now.) If you stay on this path you will see a large "horned" tree on the right in the woods. At the base is where Cyndaquil lives. Stamp in and rehide as well as possible.

6.Totodile

Return to the path and continue the way that you were heading. Soon on your left, there will be a path which leads to a Y fork. To the right is a bench near the water. To the left is another path into the woods. Go right. Almost immediately on the right side of the trail is a group of three trees. Between the trees is Totodile's home. Stamp in and rehide as well as possible.

7.Chikorita

Return again to the main path and continue the way you were going. Pass the green shed and go over the waterfall. (Not too visible, but pretty hearable) At the Y fork, but first, look back towards the green shed. Look right and find the tree with exposed roots. Chikorita is in the roots on the right side. Stamp in and rehide well, but carefully so it is not washed away.

8.Mudkip

Face the fork again. Turn left to do THE PINE ISLAND LETTERBOX, or turn right to continue the series. If you turn right, after you turn, continue on the path, looking for a round bench on the left. Sit down facing away from the path and towards the lake. Enjoy the great view. Look right for a tree that bends towards the path. At the base of the tree is Mudkip. Stamp in and rehide as well as possible.

9.Torchic

Keep on the path, crossing over a big fallen tree. At the path split, turn left and go uphill. Follow this path for a while. When the path splits again, there will be two trees between the two paths. A pine tree, and a larger tree. At the base of the largrer tree is Torchic. Stamp in and rehide as well as possible.

10.Treecko

Take the path to the right of the fork you are at. It goes through a miniature gorge which has been eroded away. It then goes downhill and makes a few curves. At the end of the path are 3 rocks by the railroad tracks. Under the rock in the middle of the 3, which is a sort of puddingstone, is Treecko, who holds the logbook for the series. Stamp and Log in, and rehide extremely well.

Directions: Back to Parking Lot

Pass the 3 rocks and turn to your right. Follow the train tracks this way, but watch out for broken glass. After a short walk, there will be a path back into the woods to your right. At the fork, turn left, and follow the path. You will notice that things are starting to look familiar. They are. This is the path you were on before. Now retrace your steps to the fork with the green shed. At the fork, if you have not done the PINE ISLAND LETTERBOX, turn right. If you have, turn left, and go back to your car.

HAVE FUN!

BE SURE TO PRINT THE DIRECTIONS TO THE PINE ISLAND LETTERBOX.
