Walk down the Bridle Path starting at Sea Road School (lots of parking)-the trail starts behind the school sign. Go about 1 mile towards the ocean, keeping the river on your right hand. About 130 paces past the little road and over the old stone waterway, on the left, you will see an ancient stand of spruce and pine trees. Turn left onto the unmarked old path into the stand. After 20 paces on the left you will find the 125 year old granite marker to the Garrison fort that once stood on this place in 1723.
Behind you you will see an old forked tree-about 20 feet or so. The letterbox is placed in the roots of the tree.
Placed by Cubscout Pack 302/Dens 5 and 6.
Dogs are welcomed on the trail.
Beware of deer.
