This is our very first letter box!
We placed it somewhere we often go for a walk or bike ride - the Contra Costa Canal Trail. Park on Lucille Lane just past Stanmore Drive. You'll see the path leading up the hill. Go up and cross the bridge over the canal. You will see the sign for Las Juntas Park. Continue up the main path until you reach the park with a couple of benches and a water fountain. Go through the park and enjoy the view of Mt. Diablo. You will see a dirt path leading back down to the Las Juntas Park sign. On the right hand side of the path is a tree. Look at the base of the tree for a rock and under the rock is what you are looking for. The stamp is hand-made, but it is the first stamp we ever made so don't expect a great work of art! Enjoy....
4/1/07: No Joking, this letterbox has been removed for now. Checked today and the box was there but the stamp wandered off! I will replace when I make a new stamp.
